Mail Room | Sindang’s Hidden Espresso Cafe
After having a meal near Sindang Station, I looked around for a cafe worth checking out.
I ended up visiting a hidden spot called 메일룸 (Mail Room) tucked away in a nearby alley. From its mysterious exterior covered with countless letters to the unique system where I picked up my drink from an actual mailbox, this espresso cafe was packed with quirky charm. Since I visited once in the evening and then again on a different morning, I got to see different sides of the space.
✉️ Stepping into a Paper-Covered Exterior That Caught Me Off Guard
It was open for business, right? 😱
As soon as I arrived, the unusual exterior grabbed my attention. To be honest, if you walked past without paying attention, you might’ve thought the place had shut down. 😅
The facade was completely covered with old mail and paper, giving it the feel of a movie set. At first, I wasn’t even sure where to enter, but pushing through the door felt like a small event in itself, which made the experience surprisingly fun.

The biggest highlight here was the ordering and pickup process. After placing an order on the first floor, I received a cute key instead of a pager. When the alert went off later, I opened the mailbox matching my key number and picked up my coffee from inside.

Following the instructions, I simply slipped the used key and pager back into the mailbox afterward. It might’ve seemed like a small detail, but the analog vibe made me keep pulling out my camera.
☕ Diving into Signature Drinks That Delighted the Eyes and Taste Buds

From the menu, we picked the signature Mail Latte and Arancia Granita.
The Mail Latte came with a thick, generous layer of cream on top, making it wonderfully smooth to drink. The rich cream lingered throughout the cup, balancing the coffee’s slight bitterness with a sweet, creamy finish until the very last sip.

This layered drink served in a small glass combined espresso with orange sorbet. After the deep, bittersweet coffee flavor came a bright citrus aroma that filled the mouth. Even people unfamiliar with espresso could probably enjoy this one. It had a unique flavor profile, yet I kept going back for another sip.

The entire building, including the rooftop on the fifth floor, was used as part of the cafe. Each floor had a distinct theme, which made exploring surprisingly enjoyable.

The second floor featured a classic interior filled with dark wood furniture and a calm atmosphere. Most visitors seemed to enjoy their coffee here. It felt like a great floor for chatting with friends.

Unlike the smaller tables on the second floor, the third floor had large communal tables. What stood out most was the collection of postcards and letters decorating the ceiling area. The space was filled with the scent of paper and analog charm, making it feel like the perfect place to sit quietly and read a book.

The fourth floor was used as a photography studio. Photos from past shoots were displayed right at the entrance. Decorative fireplaces, plush sofas, and vintage wooden furniture came together to create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

At the top of the building, the fifth-floor rooftop offered a pleasant place to unwind. On a cool evening, it was nice to sip coffee while looking out over the city lights.
