Agra Curry at Yongsan I’Park Mall

Do you ever find yourself wondering, “What should I eat that’s a little special and delicious?” on a weekend evening?

When the usual meat dishes and pasta started to feel a bit repetitive, I found myself craving the charm of exotic spices.

So last Sunday, I headed over to 아그라 (Indian restaurant Agra) at Yongsan I’Park Mall for a flavorful Indian meal in a great atmosphere. Under the dazzling lights, I dug into smooth curries and chewy naan. Here’s how it went!

✨ Stepping into an Exotic Space With Dazzling Lighting

The interior of Agra was especially memorable thanks to the soft, exotic lighting covering the ceiling.

As soon as I walked in, the lights were the first thing that caught my eye.

Even though it was located inside a large shopping mall, the warm glow made it feel like an upscale restaurant at an overseas travel destination. The tables were spacious and the seating was comfortable, making it a great spot for a weekend date night or a gathering with friends.

Orders were placed through a tablet at the table, and there were even unlimited menu options available.

We ordered the two-person Ganges Set.

With the set, we could choose one salad, two curries, and two naan varieties.

We picked the Indi Mushroom Naan Salad, Butter Prawn Makhani, Chicken Vindaloo, Honey Butter Naan, Garlic Naan, and the drinks Berry Berry Lassi and Ube Lassi.

🥔 Diving into the Eye-Catching Potato Head

The beautifully presented Potato Head arrived first.

Since it was included in the set, I didn’t think much of it beforehand. When it arrived, I actually wondered if it was a dish we hadn’t ordered. 😅 It turned out to be Potato Head, a potato topped with what tasted like curry sauce.

It worked nicely as a starter before the main dishes and was easy to enjoy. Paired with the crackers served alongside it, it reminded me a little of eating nachos and potatoes together.

The presentation was what I loved most.

🌫️ Enjoying a Mushroom Salad With Visual Flair

The Indi Mushroom Naan Salad came with dry ice smoke flowing out dramatically, adding plenty of visual appeal.

Then the Indi Mushroom Naan Salad arrived. Dry ice smoke poured out from beneath the bowl like a waterfall, instantly drawing attention.

One bite of the chewy naan wrapped around sautéed mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and sweet sauce made for a great appetizer that got my appetite going.

🍛 Savoring Agra Curries With Chewy Naan

The Ganges Set arrived loaded with curry, giant Honey Butter Naan, and Garlic Naan.

Next came the two curries and some impressively large naan breads.

The smooth Butter Prawn Makhani and slightly spicy Chicken Vindaloo looked fantastic.

We chose the creamy Butter Prawn Makhani with tender shrimp and the mildly spicy Chicken Vindaloo. The Makhani was rich, creamy, and easy for just about anyone to enjoy, while the Vindaloo added a gentle kick that balanced out the richness perfectly.

I also liked that the curries were served on warmers, so they stayed hot throughout the meal.

The Honey Butter Naan and Garlic Naan looked incredibly appetizing.

The sweet Honey Butter Naan paired especially well with the spicy Chicken Vindaloo. The sweetness toned down the heat, and the honey butter flavor stood out even more. It was a delicious combination. The only downside was that the naan was so chewy that it became a little sticky when tearing it apart by hand.

The Garlic Naan wasn’t as sweet, so it matched the Butter Prawn Makhani particularly well.

The Berry Berry Lassi and Ube Lassi helped cool down the spicy curry.

As I kept eating the Vindaloo, it started to feel spicier and spicier. That’s when the refreshing Berry Berry Lassi and Ube Lassi really came in handy. The rich yogurt-like texture made both drinks especially enjoyable.

It was a satisfying day filled with Indian food for the first time in a while.
