Yeoksam Team Dinners | Yangguk’s Signature Lamb Ribs
Last week, I met up with former teammates from my previous job for a cozy get-together that felt a lot like a company dinner. Even after changing jobs, I’ve stayed in touch with my old coworkers, so it was great catching up with everyone.
Instead of the usual pork belly or beef we always had for dinner gatherings, we were craving something a little different this time. So we headed over to 양국 (a lamb specialty restaurant, branded as YANG GOOD) near Yeoksam Station. I’d actually visited before with the same group, and everyone loved it, so this turned into a repeat visit.

The Korean name is written as “Yangguk,” but the sign also says “YANG GOOD” in English underneath. I thought that little bit of wordplay was pretty cute and fun.
🏢 Stepping into an Exotic Atmosphere With Easy Conversation
As soon as I walked inside, the aroma of meat sizzling on charcoal instantly kicked up my appetite.
One thing that stood out was how many international guests were dining there, including customers from Muslim communities. I later found out that the restaurant only uses fresh halal-certified chilled meat. With plenty of English on the signs and menu, the whole place even felt a bit like I’d traveled abroad to check out a local favorite.

One thing I usually disliked about Korean barbecue company dinners was how loud they got. Sometimes it was hard to even hear the person sitting across from me. Yangguk felt completely different. Since it’s a slightly higher-priced restaurant, it wasn’t overcrowded or noisy. The comfortable atmosphere made it easy to chat with coworkers while focusing on the food.
🍖 Diving into Tender Lamb Ribs With Rich Juices
As soon as we sat down, we ordered two portions of lamb ribs and two portions of lamb skewers. Once the charcoal was brought out, we put the thick-cut lamb ribs on the grill first. The sizzling sound and the way they slowly cooked looked absolutely incredible.

When the lamb ribs were ready, I took a bite and was immediately impressed. They weren’t tough or dry at all. The meat was incredibly tender and practically melted in my mouth. There wasn’t any gamey smell, just rich, savory juices packed into every bite. Everyone around the table couldn’t stop talking about how good they were. Whether during my previous visit or this one, the lamb ribs definitely lived up to their reputation.
There was one funny little detail, though.
The staff gave us paper handles to make it easier to hold the lamb ribs, and printed on them was an adorable, fluffy sheep smiling brightly.

Holding a cute sheep illustration in one hand while happily chewing juicy lamb with the other felt strangely guilty and hilarious at the same time. My coworkers and I laughed about it for quite a while.
Sorry, little sheep… but you were just too delicious! 😂
🍢 Enjoying Lamb Skewers With Plenty of Cumin

After filling up a bit on the lamb ribs, we rolled the lamb skewers over the charcoal grill and cooked them until nicely browned. Dipping the skewers generously into the savory, spicy cumin seasoning made them an amazing pairing for beer.

Both the lamb ribs and lamb skewers were fantastic, but if I had to pick just one favorite, I’d go with the lamb ribs.
These days, there are plenty of great lamb skewer restaurants around. But finding lamb ribs this clean-tasting and high in quality isn’t nearly as common.
💡 Who Should Come Here?
1. Anyone looking for a clean and comfortable team dinner spot near Yeoksam Station where conversations can flow easily.
2. Anyone who wants to enjoy high-quality lamb without the typical gamey smell.
3. Anyone dining with international guests who are looking for a halal-certified restaurant.
💬 Wrapping Up With a Satisfying Meal
The prices weren’t exactly cheap, but considering the quality of the meat, I thought they were completely justified. If you’re tired of noisy barbecue restaurants and want to enjoy great food while chatting comfortably with your group, this is a place worth checking out. It also seemed like an excellent choice for hosting overseas business guests.
My coworkers and I all left happy, making it a very successful gathering. The next time I’m craving lamb ribs, I’d definitely come back again.
