Kuukuu Gold Bucheon

Kuukuu Gold Bucheon Weekend Lunch Review

When everyone in the family has slightly different food preferences, a buffet always feels like the best option since you can mix and match all kinds of dishes. This weekend, I headed to 쿠우쿠우 골드 부천점 (premium sushi buffet branch in Bucheon), a spot that’s been getting a lot of attention lately, for a family lunch gathering. It was my first time visiting Kuukuu Gold, and here’s how it went.

🍣 Stepping into Kuukuu Gold Bucheon With a Comfortable First Impression

Since it was peak lunch time on the weekend, I was a little worried there might be a long wait. Thankfully, the restaurant was huge, covering about 380 pyeong, with plenty of seating available, so we got seated right away without any waiting.

The venue occupied the entire seventh floor of a building near 신중동역 (Sinjung-dong Station), making the layout feel spacious and easy to move around. The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant also stood out. As soon as we settled in, we headed off to pick up some food.

🐟 Diving into Kuukuu Gold Bucheon’s Generous Sushi Corner

True to its reputation as a sushi buffet, the selection of sushi and rolls was impressively diverse.

The roll section was where I started. It was filled with favorites for both kids and adults, including taco wasabi gunkan, flying fish roe rolls, smoked salmon rolls, and crab stick rolls, offering plenty of savory and slightly sweet options.

Although I couldn’t capture it in photos, the maki section featured neatly arranged futomaki packed with fresh ingredients and flying fish roe wrapped in flavorful seaweed, along with several bite-sized maki varieties.

The sashimi section displayed chilled, freshly prepared selections such as salmon, tuna, and bonito. It was easy to load up a plate with whatever suited your taste.

The main sushi section was also packed with all kinds of sushi, making it fun to try a little of everything.

One thing I particularly liked was the balance between the rice and fish. At many all-you-can-eat buffets, the rice portion tends to be too large, making you feel full quickly. Here, the rice portion was relatively small while the fish topping was noticeably larger and thicker.

Because of that, I could enjoy the rich flavor and fresh texture of the fish without feeling like I was filling up on rice.

🍖 Enjoying More Than Sushi With the Hot Food Zone

While Kuukuu is famous for sushi, the Hot Food Zone also offered a wide range of warm dishes beyond sushi and sashimi.

There were crispy fried items, warm soups, and made-to-order broth dishes available. That made it a great option for young children or older guests who don’t usually go for raw fish or sushi and prefer hearty hot meals.

Being able to sample a variety of hot dishes alongside the sushi made the overall dining experience feel even more satisfying.

🍨 Finishing With Desserts From Ice Cream Beads to Fresh Fruit

After wrapping up the meal, I headed over to the dessert section, which was surprisingly well stocked.

Unlimited bead ice cream was available, offering a fun treat that both kids and adults seemed to enjoy.

There was also a station for making bingsu, along with regular ice cream and slushies nearby. It felt like there was something for every age group.

A variety of fresh fruits was available as well. The freshness varied slightly depending on the fruit, but it was still a pleasant and refreshing way to finish the meal.

💡 Who Should Come Here?

• Anyone looking for a family dining spot or group gathering venue with a wide variety of menu choices for all ages.

• Anyone who wants to enjoy sushi with less rice and thicker slices of fish without limitations.

• Anyone who enjoys sushi but also wants plenty of other dishes to go along with it.

💬 Wrapping Up With a Relaxed Weekend Lunch

Even though I visited during weekend lunch hours, I finished the meal comfortably without dealing with a long wait, which made for a very satisfying outing.

The balance between the sushi rice and fish was well done, and the spacious dining area made it easy to chat and enjoy the meal comfortably.

It definitely felt like the “Gold” name reflected the wider variety of sashimi and sushi available.
