Pirolz Coffeehouse City Hall | Sweet Desserts in a Retro Cafe
After spending time at nothing but ultra-modern cafes, there are days when an old-school retro vibe suddenly sounds appealing, aren’t there?
Today, I stopped by 피롤츠 커피하우스 시청점 (retro-style coffeehouse near City Hall Station). With its classic old coffeehouse-inspired interior, sweet desserts, and great coffee, it turned out to be a charming spot. Here’s my visit after enjoying some tasty desserts while looking out over the streets around City Hall Station.
☕ Stepping into a Charming Retro Hideaway

While following the map app, I spotted a green building. The second floor of that building was today’s destination.

After heading up the vintage wooden stairs, a cozy space opened up that I never would’ve expected from the outside.

The inside of Pirolz Coffeehouse featured red leather chairs, deep wood tones, and warm lighting. It felt like a rare hidden gem right in the middle of the City Hall Station area. On a weekday afternoon, it was the perfect place to sit by the window, watch the street outside, and unwind quietly.

Looking through the menu, I found coffee, tea, desserts, and even alcoholic drinks. The atmosphere seemed suitable for winding down with a drink in the evening as well.
🍮 Diving into Sweet Caramel Pudding and Chocolate Fudge

We ordered caramel pudding and chocolate fudge for dessert. First up was the caramel pudding. Topped with a cute red cherry, it had a gentle wobble and a sweet flavor that really hit the spot.
Next came the chocolate fudge. Can you see it in the photo? A mountain of soft whipped cream was piled on top of a dense chocolate fudge pastry. The rich chocolate flavor lingered pleasantly, and when I was craving something sweet, it felt like every bit of stress melted away.
🕰️ With Sweet Vienna Coffee and Relaxing French Press Coffee

Great coffee couldn’t be left out alongside sweet desserts. We ordered a French press coffee and a Vienna coffee. The Vienna coffee came topped with plenty of thick, sweet cream, and even a small spoonful of the cream lifted my mood.
The French press was fun because I got to brew and pour it at the table. The flavor was milder and smoother than expected, but there was one detail that really stood out.

Just like an old-fashioned Korean coffeehouse, sugar cubes and creamer were provided on the side so I could mix the coffee however I liked. Small touches like this made the retro atmosphere feel even stronger.
After adding some, it instantly tasted like classic old-school coffeehouse coffee! 😄

The coffee and desserts were also delicious, making it an easy place to spend a leisurely afternoon.
