Fukuoka Arena Shopping | Disney Collabs & Coupon Tips
If you’re a swimmer heading to Japan, you’ve probably thought about setting aside a day just for swim gear shopping. From Mizuno and Arena to View and Hydro, there are so many popular Japanese brands to check out!
I ended up clearing out the shelves at the Arena store in Fukuoka this time! A few years ago, the JPY exchange rate was much better, and these days the savings aren’t quite the same. Even so, the limited-edition products got me opening my wallet, and I brought home two items. They were so cute that I had to show them right away.

Before heading into the store, you can show your passport at the information desk on the first floor and receive a foreign visitor discount coupon. It gives you 500 JPY off purchases over 10,000 JPY, and when combined with tax-free benefits, the savings were better than I expected. If you go straight into the store first, things can get hectic later, so make sure you pick up the coupon beforehand.

🎀 Diving into Irresistible Disney Collaborations
The Toy Story Alien character
Maybe it was because Toy Story 5 had been released, but the Toy Story collaboration products were displayed right at the front. It was a fun surprise to see them.
The designs felt bright and playful, and they looked like they’d really stand out at the pool. I thought the white version looked especially nice, but since it had a black lining, I decided to hold off because of potential bubble issues.
This was the one I picked! A Minnie Mouse swimsuit this cute doesn’t come around every day. Out of all the new releases, the Minnie series looked the best to me, so I didn’t have much trouble deciding.
At first, I liked the red one on the left, but when I held them up to my face, the mint color suited me better. It looked brighter and more flattering. The pink accent across the chest paired with blue bias tape and piping made it perfect for cool-toned colors.
The Mickey & Minnie swimsuit also caught my eye, and choosing between them wasn’t easy. There were just too many things I wanted, so I had to set some limits.
There were children’s sizes available too, and I thought these designs would look even cuter on kids.

If flashy styles aren’t your thing, this might be the perfect choice. The small Mickey Mouse pattern on the black base was adorable, and the matching backpack and drawstring bag made the whole set incredibly tempting.
As for this oversized bag, I knew I wanted it the moment I saw it.
Lately I’d been carrying around fins and training gear for swim trips, so I’d already been thinking about getting a large bag. I hadn’t found a design I really liked until this one showed up.
The Mickey pattern with the yellow trim was such a cute detail. It looked great as a swim bag, but it also wouldn’t feel out of place for everyday use. The size seemed perfect for packing everything needed for a one-night, two-day trip.
The price was 16,000 JPY.
🩱 Falling For More Than Disney at Arena VIORO
These were the swimsuits that stayed on my mind right up until I finished paying and walked out of the store. The heart-filled designs immediately made me fall for them too.
I’m always drawn to colorful patterns like these. Since they weren’t limited-edition products, I somehow managed to hold myself back and save them for another time. I even told myself I’d order them online later if I really couldn’t stop thinking about them.
Japanese Arena seemed to do a particularly great job with bold pop-art style patterns compared to what I usually saw in Korea. There were plenty of color options too, so even visitors who weren’t into character designs would probably enjoy browsing.
📍 Discovering Fukuoka-Exclusive Items
One side of the store had a dedicated Fukuoka-exclusive merchandise section. There were silicone swim caps, mesh swim caps, towels, and other items featuring a Fukuoka ramen character. These were products you couldn’t get in Seoul or even in other Japanese cities.
If you love collecting limited-edition items, these were definitely worth picking up.
I personally passed on them this time.

The goggle section was impressive as well. Models such as the Cobra Ultra, Cobra Core, and Aquaforce Swift A series were neatly displayed in various colors. Korean stores often only carry two or three color options, but the selection here was much broader, making it a worthwhile stop even if goggles were your main goal.
Comfort is the most important thing when it comes to goggles. I loved that they had separate test samples available so visitors could try them on and see how they fit.
The Arena Cobra series is already famous, so if you want to try before you buy, I’d definitely recommend visiting the Arena VIORO store in Fukuoka.

Of course, Arena stores exist in Korea too, but Disney collaborations and Fukuoka-exclusive collections felt noticeably different when viewed locally. Prices were similar to Korean Arena stores or sometimes even slightly higher, but using the coupon and tax-free benefits helped reduce the overall cost.
More than anything, timing matters with limited-edition items. I still regretted not buying a Little Mermaid swimsuit in Tokyo last year, so this time I made sure to choose without any regrets.

It’s about a 3-minute walk from Tenjin (天神) Station on the Airport Line and Nanakuma Line. Exit through the west gate and walk straight until you spot the VIORO building. The Arena store is on the basement second floor. Before heading in, don’t forget to show your passport at the first-floor information desk and pick up the foreign visitor coupon.
