2026 Hangang Cross Swimming Competition! This event’s famous for getting postponed or canceled year after year whenever it rains, and it’s been through all kinds of setbacks. This time too, rain was in the forecast a week in advance, so I kept watching and wondering whether it would actually go ahead… Finally, on race day…
This week, my team and I went out for dinner at a special spot near Jonggak Station. We didn’t want the usual meat-grilling joint or a typical pub, so we looked around and stumbled upon Sudowon (Secret Abbey). Right from the entrance, it felt exactly like stepping into a real medieval abbey cellar, and I…
So, we all know that urge to escape the city on a weekend, right? We went for a drive out to Paju recently, and a friend brought us to this spot they swore by. We walked in without a second thought because this place is all about massive meat portions. But it wasn’t just about…
Sometimes you just want a place where you can actually hear the person sitting across from you. Dongmyo is a fantastic neighborhood to wander around, especially with all the vintage markets and street stalls. Now that the weather’s finally warming up, don’t you just crave grilling outside instead of being stuck in a stuffy restaurant? I always look for that classic outdoor dining vibe—known as *yajang* in Korea—but finding the right spot can be tricky. Usually, outdoor dining around Jongno and Euljiro areas means sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, trying…
I recently visited the newly opened Megabox Guui East Pole. Before the movie, I grabbed lunch at Ashley Queens on the B1 level of the East Pole building, then headed up to the 2nd-floor Megabox in time for the Project Hail Mary screening. Lately, when I go to movies, I find myself looking for spots…
If you’ve spent any amount of time living in or visiting Seoul, you already know the golden rule of weekend dining: expect a line. It doesn’t matter if you’re hunting down a viral pastry in Seongsu or trying to grab a quick bowl of noodles in Hongdae. If it’s a Saturday or Sunday, you’re going…
If you’ve spent any amount of time trying to plan a date night in Seoul, you know the struggle. You want somewhere with excellent food, but you also need the right atmosphere. Half the places with great menus end up being so loud you have to yell across the table, and the quiet places often…
